As the festive season is fast approaching, I wanted to post my super easy party snacks that are a more healthy alternative to chips and various other types of junky food that is normally served.
I love it when I have cooking weeks where everything works! I had a few disasters not that long ago where the result was so bad that even I couldn’t eat it – very rare as I hate to waste food. But this week was truly stellar, so here is one of the recipes today and the rest will follow in the weeks to come.
I love this one because it is super easy, as is my preference but again it was just a tweak on my Chocolate Tweets mix that made it completely different, rich, decadent and just all over Oh My Goodness!
Do you remember the White Chocolate Spiders recipe from years ago that was basically melt white chocolate, add peanut butter, tip in crunchy noodles and that was it? I used to love them and then feel sick afterwards from all the crappy stuff in it.
When news of this ‘Australian first’ wellness offer popped in my inbox, I was a little unsure of what it was about and skeptical as to whether I, or you guys, would be interested.
But then I saw who was involved and my eyes nearly popped out of my head!
Have you discovered Chia Seeds yet?
Supposedly packed with all kinds of nutrition like omega 3, fibre, protein, and a host of minerals and in recent times given the superfood tag, however don’t believe the hype. Two problems with it and I’ll keep it brief because I can already feel your eyes glazing over – ha ha.
Just another quick little recipe that I have featured on Instagram before but haven’t managed to post here.
In the past, if there was ever a choice of cake going around, my preference was always cheesecake. Not sure why, but it just hit the spot. The more I learn about good fats, blood sugar spikes with too much sugar and carbs and the rest of the havoc caused by wheat products (currently reading Wheat Belly by William Davis MD and having mind blown,) I am coming to understand more why my body would choose this high fat treat option. It knows best!
I’ve noticed something. If I eat three small pieces of this recipe or any of the good fat and protein combos like my white chocolate fudge or peanut butter balls, for breakfast, I am totally not hungry again until well after 12 noon.
That’s super awesome because in the past when I had fruit or oats for example, I would be hungry again an hour later. Such a pain when you have things to do.
